Our AcaDec team is competing nationally in Des Moines, IA this week! They took a few moments to pose in front of the Des Moines River just outside their hotel yesterday after they arrived, then posed again this morning at the opening ceremony. Competition began this afternoon with the speech portion and continues tomorrow with the "Super Quiz."

The district has been closely monitoring the weather and Superintendent Benson attended a webinar earlier today regarding the severe weather that's expected for later today. It appears that we could experience some challenging weather between the 4-7pm time frame. We are aware that other districts are opting for early dismissals. At this point, we will remain in school, but there will be no after-school activities today. The bus companies and our staff will prioritize getting everyone home safely once the school day ends.

Our first and second graders had a blast participating in the Kids Heart Challenge on Thursday and raised over $1,100 for the American Heart Association! With tons of energy and enthusiasm, they jumped at 10 different stations, showing off their strength, coordination, and school spirit. It was a fun-filled day focused on heart health, teamwork, and staying active — we’re so proud of all their hard work and effort! Thanks to our National Honor Students for their help throughout the morning, too!

Eleven LCWM seniors participated in the 51st Annual Minnesota State University Math Competition today. The exam consists of questions from algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Participants included Emma, Bobbie, Max, Brenden, Clara, Lincoln, Charlotte, Nathan, Chloe, Nicholai & Julia. LCWM's top scorers were Bobbie and Lincoln. Congratulations!

Five students from LCWM attended the MSHSL Visual Arts competition in Montgomery on April 9th. Aubrie won Superior in Drawing and Painting, Lexi won Superior in Painting and Ceramics, Lucas won excellent in Film-based Photography, Ronan won Superior in ceramics and was also awarded a Judge's Choice Spotlight on the Arts. Adam won an Excellent in Drawing. Congratulations to these five artists!
